Workshops

On an occasional basis I run full-day and half-day seminars and workshops on various aspects of therapy, Pilates and corrective exercise.

These can be arranged for therapist support groups or for small groups on request.  Contact me for more details.

Below is an outline of some of the most recent workshops.

Introduction to Meridians and Elements

A half-day workshop looking at the basic Traditional Chinese Medicine concepts of Qi and meridian flow.  The session will examine how signs of dis-ease can be related to each of the Five Elements and will introduce how work on meridians and acupoints can help manage such conditions.  This session also introduces the concept of Constitutional Factors and explores how gaining an understanding which of the Five Elements influences a client’s physical, mental and emotional state the most can then offer powerful ways of treating that client.

 

Putting Points into Practice

A half-day workshop taking the concepts from the Introduction to Meridians and Elements session and showing how they can be applied in a simple but powerful treatment strategy.

 

Psoas: So what?

A half-day session looking at this key hip flexor muscle can how profound effects on our whole well-being.  We will examine the psoas muscle from both a western clinical perspective as well as from a Chinese Traditional medicine aspect.  The session will look at ways of assessing, treating and managing this muscle for ourselves and our clients.

 

Pilates for Reflexologists

Pilates for Reflexologists is a half-day session looking at the basic concepts of this method of exercise.  We look at the anatomy and function of the Core and how training the postural muscles using the Pilates method is so beneficial.   The session will enable Reflexologists to explain to their clients why Pilates could be of benefit to them.
