Just because I have done the sums:
Based on ONS data
w/e 17 April, the average age of death where COVID-19 is recorded on the death certification:
Mean age: 80.0
Median age: 82.5
Modal age interval: 85-89
This is probably the first week of reliable ONS data on which to perform this analysis as a higher proportion of deaths in Care Homes have been ‘properly’ apportioned to COVID-19 in this particular week.
